Argan Oil for Skin Health Care

Moroccan argan oil is widely known for being wonderful for your skin.  It is moisturising, protects your skin from harmful sun rays, helps to combat aging and fades scars, blemishes and stretch marks.  Many new skin care products contain argan oil, and many people call it a “miracle oil”.  Let’s take a look at why argan oil for skincare is so beneficial.

Argan oil for skin care

  •  Moisturising

Argan oil contains an abundance of essential fatty acids such as squalene.  They help lock in moisture into the skin so that your skin stays hydrated.  When the weather is cool and dry, argan oil can be applied in order to keep the skin smooth and moist.  Skin that is well-hydrated is not only much healthier, but looks better too. Who wouldn’t replace dull, dry skin with radiant, glowing skin?

  • Protects your Skin Against the Elements

One main cause for premature aging of the skin is skin damage caused by UV radiation.  If you have spent lots of time in the sun without sunscreen, or even in a tanning bed, you will want to repair some of the damage that has been done.  Much skin damage does not even show up until much later, meaning that you could damage your skin at a young age and only pay the price as you get older.  The skin damage is caused mainly by free radicals.  Free radicals are also abundant in polluted areas.   Argan oil’s anti-oxidant properties help combat free radicals.

  • Soothes your Skin

Moroccan argan can help soothe dry and irritated skin.  It can be mixed with essential oils to become even more effective. (Please note that not all essential oils are suitable for sensitive skin, and none of them should be used neat on the skin.  A good, ‘safe’ essential oil to choose is lavender oil.  A drop in one tablespoon of argan oil goes a long way.

  • Slows Down Aging

As mentioned before, argan oil helps combat free radicals.  This goes a long way in slowing down skin aging.  Free radicals slow down your skin’s ability to repair and regenerate itself, which can lead to developing dull, dry skin.  Argan oil helps restore your skin’s elasticity.  It does this in two ways – by neutralising free radicals, and by keeping the skin hydrated. If you habitually apply argan oil to your skin, you will see a reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.  It’s never too late to start taking care of your skin!

  • Eliminates Stretch Marks and Scars

Using Moroccan argan oil for skincare on a regular basis can help diminish the appearance of scars and stretch marks.  This is mainly due to argan oil’s abundance of Vitamin E, but it also contains other nutrients which work together with Vitamin E to nourish the skin and help it regain its elasticity.

While many skin care products contain argan oil, many do not state explicitly exactly how much of the oil they contain. I have found that the purer, the better.  Most people prefer to use 100% pure argan oil for their skin rather than skin products containing argan.  If you are in the UK, one of the best sources for this is Pure Argan Oil.  I will add other sources of argan oil for skin health care as I go along, but I find that purearganoil.co.uk supplies a superior product.

  1. really cool, ive recently purchased argan oil and its been working great especially for the skin around my hands and arms.

  2. Argan Oil plays a major role as part of a healthy diet. Argan oil has two times more Vitamin E in than Olive oil; therefore Argan oil can be included in dishes in the same way olive oil is used.
